About the Role Our client is looking for a skilled Telecommunications Technician to join their team in Welkom. This role is critical for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems, including voice, data, and video networks. You will work on-site to ensure the seamless operation of communication infrastructure for various clients. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of networking principles and enjoys hands-on technical work, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and ensuring client connectivity. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment and cabling. Perform diagnostics and repairs on network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and servers. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to voice and data communication systems. Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and network configurations. Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure integrated system functionality. Respond to service calls and perform on-site repairs as needed, potentially working a hybrid schedule that includes field and office duties. Requirements Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician or similar role. Solid understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs) and hardware. Proficiency in installing and terminating various types of network cables (e.g., Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic). Experience with diagnostic tools and test equipment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel within the region.
